Australia Autumn 2020 Tour OFFICIALLY CANCELLED - Tuesday 17 March - The Dirty Ragtimers
TOUR - LATEST NEWS
daily update - by heather. TOUR IS OFFICALLY CANCELLED
Tuesday 17 March 2020
I've spent a huge amount of stressful time in the last few weeks and delayed cancelling every concert for this tour until it was deemed necessary. With current efforts to isolate and prevent spread of Covid 19 as our best method of defence, the responsible decision is clear.
The Dirty Ragtimers Autumn Tour is officially cancelled. There will be no gigs from the duo, or larger orchestra and no substitute concerts this Autumn possible with regards to the growing concerns regarding Covid 19.
In an effort to maintain positive community spirit, I am selling the limited number of the new albums with me.
For a CD - email me from my WEBSITE CONTACT PAGE: https://heatherstewart.com.au/
Pay what you want, minimum $25 plus postage. Send an email with your name, address, phone number and I'll put aside album(s) to post when logistically possible.

Yes we're selling our album, in the effort to share this music as we cannot bring you a live concert. ***Currently planning ideas for an online live concert...
Thanks again for your support and sending out warm wishes for safety, continued health and support for community. I hope to share some beautiful music in better circumstances in the future.
Monday 16 March, 2020
This is something I hadn't thought I'd have to do. I'm going to post daily - about what's happening for each gig. I arrived before the Australian Gov enforced curfew, and have put myself in self -isolation. I made the call not to risk any contact with audiences and people working in venues for fourteen days. Lucas (the other half of The Dirty Ragtimers) after much discussion and assessment of the many risks and associated costs decided to stay in France.
...All the satisfaction of more organising and not getting to share the joy of the music we had prepared. It is a very trying time and please be patient if I haven't replied quickly. I don't know if I'll get any compensation/cancellation fees at all, so I'm hoping to start a buy a cd campaign - and you can choose to donate a little extra if you can. Info very soon about this.

Album Launch @ Le Bal Blomet
The Dirty Ragtimers
Tickets for The Dirty Ragtimers' The Fairytales of Montmartre launch were sold out this December in Paris's illustrious venue Le Bal Blomet. The Bal Blomet was the place every famous or infamous person of the 1920s came to perform or to be seen. Duke Ellington, Josephine Baker, Sidney Bechet are some of the top musicians who shared this stage.
Enormous thanks to everyone who came out. Paris was in full strike mode so it wasn't easy to get there or to get home afterwards. Thanks for buying so many albums too and we hope you're loving listening!

Great collection of blues, hot jazz and bewdiful originals written by Leigh Barker.
"Heather Stewart's ability to stretch phrases subtly over the bar line gives her vocals a seductive, slightly world-weary quality, and her fiddle playing contains echoes of old-time country and folk styles." Jessica Nicholas - THE AGE
